Welcoming a Novice to the Brooklyn Oratory |
We are pleased to announce that as of the beginning of February Mark Paul Amatrucola has been received by our Brooklyn Congregation of the Oratory as a novice. He comes with the stated hope of staying with us and becoming trained to become a priest member of the Congregation. In the near future, Mark Paul will formally receive our habit and be referred to as Brother Mark until that day he may be ordained a priest. We know you will welcome him and pray for his vocation at this initial stage. A lifelong Brooklynite, Mark Paul holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting & Spanish from Bucknell University and graduate degrees in Computing, Education and Catholic School Leadership from Teachers College - Columbia University and Fordham University. Mark Paul is currently pursuing a masters degree in Systematic Theology at St. John's University. After a brief career in public accounting, he joined the faculty of St. Edmund Prep in 2000 where he currently serves as Technology Director, while also leading retreats and other ministry/outreach endeavors. A Scout for many years, Mark Paul enjoys spending time in the outdoors as a member of the BSA. |
