Like much of the world we continue to monitor the risks of the spread of the Coronavirus. It appears that the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions are particularly vulnerable and that the spread of the virus is heightened in public gatherings. Anyone who feels unwell should stay home and seek medical care as needed. No one should feel under pressure to attend Mass during this time of uncertainty.
The prudent advice suggests that we do all we can to limit the spread of the virus in the containment period, BEFORE it becomes widespread.
We will for now continue to hold Masses with the stringent precautions already in place and add more opportunities to disinfect before and after taking communion. More details will be shared at masses.
We are, however, postponing some events scheduled for the next week and will continue to advise about other planned events as the situations continues to evolve.
The following are postponed until further notice:
The Lenten retreat scheduled for Saturday, March 14
Social Justice potluck on Friday, March 13, 6:30pm.
The reception after 4pm Vespers on Sunday – though we will hold the Vespers at 4 PM. We will try to have another event for new members in the future.
The Senior Group event scheduled for the 19th is postponed until further notice.
Oratory Small Groups are
not cancelled and continue to meet. Each group will be notified by their facilitator for updates.
St. Boniface Coffee Hour on March 15 will be held with stringent precautions. We will continue to monitor and review as we proceed. As always the health and safety of the community is paramount. We will continue to keep you apprised of developments as we try to care for the most vulnerable in our midst. If you are in need of any assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know.
